In the 80s, a comedy series got two, and in the late 90s, an 80s comedy got one, and I think that's it. In the last few years Icelandic films have struggled to find an audience, so a sequel to a recent film would be unthinkable to most. But the low budget sleeper hit City State wove a story so dense that they needed a second one to continue with it.
On the 17th of October City State 2: Brave Men's Blood will have its premier and the people behind it have let loose an action packed trailer to entice us.
In order to take down a major criminal organization, the ambitious head of the internal affairs unit of the Reykjavik P.D. decides to investigate a corrupt police lieutenant. Tipped off about the lieutenant's criminal dealings by a former crime kingpin, now imprisoned, he places a female former narcotics officer undercover to spy on him. These actions set him off on a dangerous path as he aims to catch both the lieutenant and the drug lord.
As before, the film is directed by Olaf De Fleur, and most of the original cast is back with Ágústa Eva Erlendsdóttir, Ingvar E. Sigurðsson, Sigurður Sigurjónsson, Zlatko Krickic and new comers Hilmir Snær Guðnason, Darri ingólfsson and J.J. Field.
