The Okinawa International Movie Festival sees a variety of stars from Tokyo and abroad descend on the southern island every year. Proceedings kicked off with the annual red carpet ceremony on the beach with stars arriving to greet the people of Okinawa before a week's worth of movies, live events and performances by some of Japan's most popular entertainers and celebrities.

Mana Ashida, recognizable from her appearance in Pacific Rim, is here with director Yukisada Isao promoting The Round Table.
Goto Hirohito is a regular face at the festival, returning with his own special 'Deru-Cine' film and masked superhero El Syuriken. Goto films scenes with members of the public in the morning then edits them together with pre-filmed footage for the afternoon screening making each performance utterly unique.
