It's been a long and winding road for Mamat Khalid's Malaysian action fantasy Apokalips X. Envisioned as a sort of post apocalyptic spin on the Japanese youth gang sub genre - picture Crows Zero or Blue Spring after a nuclear apocalypse - the film was hung up in a lengthy post production process and it's only now - years after shooting, with Khalid having completed several other films in the interim - that the film is gearing up for theatrical release in Malaysia.
