Metalhead won a fair bit of love in these pages when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival - see the links below for a full review - and it appears that the response in Iceland has been even stronger. The nominations for the Icelandic Edda awards - the local equivalent of the Oscars - have been announced and
Metalhead has set a new record with a whopping sixteen nominations. For those keeping score that's a nomination in every single category that it is eligible with the exception of Lead Actor, probably because there's not a male character in the film significant enough to really be considered more than a support part.
