As reported by ANN, Miyazaki Hayao was asked in a TV interview if he was interested in making a sequel to his early classic Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind, to which he replied, "No, I don't. I don't really feel like doing it, but Anno (Hideaki) keeps on saying, 'I want to do it! I want to do it!' So I tell him now that I've come to think lately that if he wanted to do it, it would be fine for him to do it."
Miyazaki's Nausicaa film was based on the first parts of his own manga, and Anno worked as a key animator on the film before later going on to direct the landmark anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The pair has recently worked together on the short film Giant God Warrior and Miyazaki's latest film The Wind Rises.
