It has been a long 5 years since Master animator Miyazaki Hayao's last film Ponyo was released. The very exciting news for all his fans and lovers of animated films in general is of course the release of his new film The Wind Rises (Kaze Tachinu) in Japan tomorrow. The Wind Rises is based on the life of Horikoshi Jiro, the man who designed the Zero fighter plane used in the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II, and focuses on a time when Japan was struggling with recession, infectious outbreaks and natural disasters.
