Filming is currently taking place at Japan's Shōdo Island for the upcoming live action adaptation of the novels on which Miyazaki's beloved animated film Kiki's Delivery Service was based. Following the release of on-set photos from the production, a new video showing footage of the on-set shoot and some short interviews is now available. As you can see, the shooting location is very picturesque, and it is also the first time we get to see the inside of the bakery where Kiki's character lives and works.
The film has The Grudge director Shimizu Takashi at its helm, and stars young figure skater turned actress Koshiba Fuka as Kiki. Okudera Satoko (Summer Wars, Wolf Children) has written the script for the film, which is planned for release in 2014.
