American auteur Paul Schrader will be back at the Venice Film Festival (28 August - September 7) as Head of Jury of the sidebar section Orizzonti. The movie brat guru, director of critical hits such as American Gigolo and loyal writer of Martin Scorsese (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The last temptation of Christ), will also present his latest work The Canyons, written by controversial novelist Bret Easton Ellis and starring Lindsay Lohan and James Deen, an
erotic thriller focusing on glamour and sex that will surely delight the Lido cinephiles.
Schrader is the third name announced for the renowned international festival after Bernardo Bertolucci as Jury President for the official section and Kim Ki-duk, who will present his new film Moebius in competition.
