The 11 directors on X - The Film are responsible for some of India's finest independent projects over the last few years, and bring a wide cultural perspective to the film. They are Suparn Verma (Aatma, Acid Factory, Ek Haseena Ek Khiladi), Q (Gandu, Love in India, Tasher Desh), Sudhish Kamath (Good Night Good Morning), Abhinav Shiv Tiwari (Oass), Anu Menon (London Paris New York), Hemant Gaba (Shuttlecock Boys), Pratim D. Gupta (Paanch Adhyay), Raja Sen (film critic for Rediff), Rajshree Ojha (Aisha), Sandeep Mohan (Love, Wrinkle Free), and Thiagarajan Kumararaja (Aaranya Kaandam). I haven't seen all of these films, but the ones I have seen give me great hope for the outcome of X - The Film.
Here's the basic plot outline from the film's official Facebook page:
'X' is a filmmaker's journey through his past encounters with his 10 ex-girlfriends as he spends one surreal unforgettable night at a film festival after he meets a mysterious girl who intriguingly seems to have something to do with every woman in his life. That filmmaker is K, played by actor/director Rajat Kapoor. X - The Film is already in production with at least one of the segments already having been filmed. It's being executive produced by Shiladitya Bora, who is the head honcho of alternative programming for the PVR Cinema chain that is one of the most progressive and indie-friendly cinema chains in India.
X - The Film is expected by the end of the year.
