Both halves of the duo turned in horror shorts in the Phobia and Phobia 2 horror anthologies, the latter of which is the last time Wongpoom appeared on screen at all. Pisanthanakun? He wrote and directed a hit romcom in 2010, and turned up this past year with a segment in The ABCs of Death but horror fans hungry for more have been left waiting for a new horror project for quite some time now. But that wait is almost over.
The final buff and polish is being put on Pisanthanakun's Pee Mak Phrakanong - there is still some debate as to what the international title will be, if there is an international title at all - a film described as a horror-comedy inversion of the hugely popular Mae Nak legend. Anyone who has seen Pisanthanakun's Phobia segments will tell you he is one of those rare talents who can actually do horror-comedy in a way that crosses regional boundaries so that in itself is reason to be excited. The fact he's got the quartet of young stars who anchored those shorts in the cast here as well? That's pure gravy.
And while we eagerly await a proper trailer for the film a handful of new posters have just been released along with a music teaser featuring images from the film along with parts of the original score. Check it all out below and remember you can click the posters to enlarge.
