While the trailer is stylish enough on its own, it is really the cast of this beast that gives me hope for a positive experience. Leading the charge is Bollywood's number one beefcake, John Abraham, looking ripped as ever, while his supporting cast is nothing to sneeze at. Following just a step behind are Anil Kapoor (Slumdog Millionaire, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, 24, 1942: A Love Story, Mr. India), Sonu Sood (Dabangg, Buddah Hoga Tera Baap, Arundhati, Singh is Kinng), Kangana Ranaut (Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Ready, Fashion), and the man who is only second to Nawaz Siddiqui in terms of recent output, Manoj Bajpayee (Gangs of Wasseypur, Chittagong, Chakravyuh, Raajneeti). That's a strong cast for a big budget flick like this.
Gupta hasn't directed anything high profile in a few years, instead working on writing and producing, but this trailer is pretty sweet, I must say. Perhaps it overdoes the slow motion a bit, but hey, everybody loves watching stuff explode in slo-mo, right?
Shootout at Wadala is scheduled to hit theaters this May 1, and I'm pretty psyched to see how it turns out!
