"Freedom Is Yours!" In This Twisted Red Band Trailer For UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: DAY OF RECKONING

There's no doubt about it, John Hyams' Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning is not the Universal Soldier of our youth. We may see Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme up there on the screen kicking and punching, hacking and slashing, growling and scowling, but these are only fragments of the characters that first appeared way back in 1992. So what is this then if it isn't a proper sequel? Well, if the new red band trailer is any indication, this is gonna be one twisted slice of nightmarish cinema, unlike any other action movie on the block this year. Dolph is rallying the troops with particular fervor. JCVD is gettin' his inner (and outer) Kurtz on, and Scott Adkins just looks like he's trying to come out of this shit alive and intact. Good luck, buddy. But don't take our word for it, we want yours. Does this full-on R look at the film entice you more than before, or have they gone too far and beat a dead horse into the ground (that ground not being ground at all, but lava)?

Jean-Claude Van Damme, Scott Adkins, Andrei "The Pit Bull" Arlovski and Dolph Lundgren star in UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: DAY OF RECKONING, which ups the ante in the UNIVERSALSOLDIER series, giving you more hard-hitting, bloody, no-holds-barred fighting action. John (Adkins, The Expendables 2) wakes up from a coma after his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible, Luc Deveraux (Van Damme). While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol (Arlovski). As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rouge army of genetically enhanced warriors led by back-from-the-dead leader Andrew Scott (Lundgren), John discovers more about himself and begins to call into question everything he believed to be true.

Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning releases on VOD platforms October 25th in the U.S. with a theatrical release starting November 30th.
