Director Darren Bousman appears determined to bring musical horror to the masses. When Lionsgate attempted to drop his Repo: The Genetic Opera straight to DVD Bousman responded by gassing up the van and bringing theatrical screenings to fans around the country, uncovering a hidden fan base in the process. And now he's doing it again with his second musical horror effort, The Devil's Carnival, this one conceived of as an indie effort right from day one.

And with a forty show tour already under their belt, Bousman and creative partner Terrance Zdunich are kicking off a new tour at the San Diego Comic Con as well as launching a song contest for fans.

THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL show at Comic-Con will feature a live slideshow performance, a costume contest, never before seen footage of REPO! The Genetic Opera, and a Q&A with Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich. Attending cast will include: Alexa Vega, Emilie Autum, and Marc Senter.

Director Darren Lynn Bousman's first three major films ("Saw II," "Saw III" and "Saw IV") opened at #1 at the box office three years in a row. After the "Saw" films, Bousman chose to collaborate on a uniquely entertaining project with writer/performer Terrance Zdunich and went on to direct and produce Repo! The Genetic Opera - a 2008 horror-rock opera musical film distributed by Lionsgate and hailed by The Hollywood Reporter as "the next Rocky Horror Picture Show". The futuristic gothic opera, based on the original stage play which Bousman directed in 2002, starred Paul Sorvino, Sarah Brightman, and Paris Hilton. There is no spoken dialogue in Repo! The Genetic Opera, and all the actors performed their own songs. This is also true of the cast in THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL.

The circus slideshow-type performances in THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL feature twelve original songs written by Terrance Zdunich and composer Saar Hendelman. Seamlessly fusing character and story with song, the first week the THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL soundtrack was made available online it was the #4 most downloaded album on iTunes. "I wanted to create a project that makes going to the movie theatre a more interactive, fun event where audience members aren't afraid of keeping quiet and can sing along and shout out at the characters on screen," explains Bousman.

THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL originated as a self-funded passion project with a cast and crew of 16 until, in true carnie-style, it organically grew to encompass a team of over 100. Kicking off a second multi-city road tour, each show has its own carnival-like atmosphere opening with live entertainment, the music video and making-of Repo! The Genetic Opera documentary, followed by the on-screen premiere of THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL, and ending with a Q&A with cast and crew.
