The film flew relatively under the radar last year in terms of international recognition, but spots at the SAIFF in New York and IFFLA have given them a leg up on the competition. Kshay is comparable to Q's memorable Gandu in terms of it's avant garde leanings, but it is also one of the most intense films I've seen in a long time.
Kshay has spent the last several months on the festival circuit, but getting a film like this into Indian cinemas is a big deal. Kudos once again to PVR Director's Rare who've stuck their necks out for independent cinema in a big way in 2012, releasing indie festival hits Chaurahen, The Forest, and Good Night | Good Morning, all of which have been really solid films. I have been very gratified by the increasing number of readers we are getting from India, so hopefully some of you who've given up on mainstream Indian film will be able to support films like Kshay in the cinema.
