In an unusual marketing quirk, Japan's Production IG have released a live action trailer for Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyama's upcoming adaptation of Shotara Ishinomori's 009 Re:Cyborg. And what's so odd about that? Well, it's a (mostly) live action trailer for an animated feature.
009 Re:Cyborg follows a group of nine cyborgs, each of them created by a shadowy organization for use as weapons against humanity. The group turns on their creators to protect the population instead, using the powers given them to fight their creators. I had a chance to see a lengthy 3D promo from the film earlier this year and it looks absolutely stellar. Check the new trailer below.
