Shortly after word broke that Michael Fassbender would play the lead in the Ridley Scott directed / Cormac McCarthy scripted feature The Counselor it also came out that Brad Pitt, Jeremy Renner and Javier Bardem had let it be known that they all wanted to play the key support role of Reiner. Twitch later brought word that Renner and Bardem appeared to have the inside line on that part which, at the time, seemed to signal and end to Pitt's potential involvement in the film. Or maybe not.
Brad Pitt is still circling The Counselor, having met with Ridley Scott in the last few days. While his role in the film is unclear at this point (Fassbender is the lead role, Bardem/Renner in the mix for the strong supporting role), ScreenAnarchy is hearing that the meeting was to not to discuss either of those two roles. We're told the meeting was to discuss the minor role of Westray - a business associate of the counselor's. This obviously raises some questions - will the Westray role become more substantial if Pitt comes on board? Or is it possible that we might see some cast shuffling in the near future? Stay tuned.
