Though he has just two feature films to his credit director Mamoru Hosoda has already established himself as one of the premiere animation directors in the world. Both The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Summer Wars have proven huge hits with audiences and critics alike, so much so that a new Hosoda film is now regarded as a significant event. And the next such event will hit Japanese screens in July of 2012.
Titled Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki, this new picture reunites Hosoda with his regular screenwriter Satoko Okudera, character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto and animation director Takaaki Yamashita.Hana is a 19-year-old college student. She falls in love with a werewolf and has two children, Ame and Yuki. The four live quietly in a corner of a city, but Hana decides to move to the countryside when the father werewolf suddenly dies.
