Rutger Hauer, Scott Adkins And Michael Jai White Join The Cast Of METAL HURLANT CHRONICLES

If there is an underground comic title that has had more impact than the 1970's and 1980's anthology series Metal Hurlant then I am hard pressed to imagine what that may be. Perhaps better known to most readers here as Heavy Metal the book was a melting pot of stories and ideas, many of them avant garde, most of them scifi oriented, as selected by founders Moebius, Philippe Druillet and Jean-Pierre Dionnet.

The subject of a beloved animated feature adaptation and long talked about as a wishlist project by David Fincher, Metal Hurlant is indeed returning to the big screen but this time as a French produced television series. As suits the original format it will be an anthology project with different actors appearing in different stories throughout and the initial batch of announced cast is intriguing. Martial artists Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, Darren Shahlavi and Matt Mullins - under the supervision of fight choreographer Larnell Stovall - appear in one episode while Rutger Hauer and James Marsters have also been confirmed for the series.

With a full season already ordered and production stills already beginning to appear we should hopefully see a trailer or clips sometime soon.
