Fabulous First Trailer For Coscarelli's JOHN DIES AT THE END

It's a combination that has piqued out interest from day one, one that offers the potential of something truly remarkable. Bubba Ho Tep and Phantasm director Don Coscarelli has spent the past year hard at work on a film adaptation of David Wong's John Dies At The End, a brilliant and often hysterical cult hit scifi horror mashup.

It's a drug that promises an out-of-body experience with each hit. On the street they call it Soy Sauce, and users drift across time and dimensions. But some who come back are no longer human. Suddenly a silent otherworldly invasion is underway, and mankind needs a hero. What it gets instead is John and David, a pair of college dropouts who can barely hold down jobs. Can these two stop the oncoming horror in time to save humanity? No. No, they can't.
Fans of both Coscarelli and the book have been eagerly awaiting a look at his latest work, one that would give a clue of how the director and his cast - Paul Giamatti, Clancy Brown and Doug Jones among them - would bring the book to the screen. Well, one lucky audience at Fantastic Fest got the chance to see tonight when Coscarelli presented an extended scene from the picture along with the first trailer. It looks absolutely spectacular and shortly after the big-screen premiere it also appeared online for widespread viewing. Take a look below and get yourself all worked up for what could be an instant cult classic.
