My own personal feelings for Lars Von Trier's Melancholia aside - much as I love the vast majority of the man's work I find this one insufferably self absorbed and say why in detail in my review here - the simple fact is that this is one of the buzz titles of the year. It was before the film premiered in Cannes and became doubly so after Von Trier publicly inserted his foot into his mouth and was run out of town.
