HBO Home Video Announces GIA, THE CANNONBALL RUN, & ¡THREE AMIGOS! On Blu-ray This November

It what is probably the oddest grouping of titles ever forced into one announcement, HBO Home Video has dated Blu-ray releases for Gia, The Cannonball Run, and ¡Three Amigos! for this November.  The most exciting part of it for me is that 20 minutes of new material from ¡Three Amigos!, which is one of my absolute favorite comedies from the '80s.  The release doesn't specifically say if it is a longer cut or deleted scenes, but I'm game for either.

Here are the details:

Gia, an HBO original film, features superstar Angelina Jolie's breakout role which earned her a Golden Globe® for Best Actress. It's 1970s New York.  Designer jeans, disco and drugs are rampant.  America's first supermodel, Gia (Jolie), appears to have a charmed life.  Sex, money, power, and fame are all here for the taking.  When she falls victim to life in the fast lane, however, her career and life become a casualty of life on the edge.  Along with Jolie, the film stars Faye Dunaway (Midnight Bayou) who received the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role, Mercedes Ruehl (The Fisher King), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) and Mila Kunis (Black Swan). Gia has been re-mastered and re-packaged for its Blu-ray Disc debut.

Ruddy.

¡Three Amigos!  25th Anniversary Edition / Street Date:November 22, 2011

¡Three Amigos! 25th Anniversary Edition features over 20 minutes of never-before-seen footage and a beautiful Blu-ray transfer overseen by director John Landis (Animal House).  Emmy® Award winners Steve Martin (It's Complicated), Chevy Chase (Community) and Martin Short (Damages) star in Three Amigos, an uproarious comedy classic about three out of work silent movie actors who think they have stumbled upon the role of a lifetime.  In 1916, the notorious bandit El Guapo and his gang are terrorizing a remote Mexican village.  The daughter of the village leader, having seen a silent film featuring "The Three Amigos," sends a telegram to the trio, believing them to be real heroes, asking them for help. Thinking they're being offered a fortune for a personal appearance, the actors arrive in Mexico, only to discover they will be dodging real bullets!
