GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD is a documentary on the life of George Harrison by director Martin Scorsese. After Harrison's death in 2001, his widow Olivia was approached with various offers to have a film made about her late husband's life, which she declined until she met Scorsese.

Official synopsis: The film follows Harrison's story from his early life in Liverpool, the success of Beatlemania, his travels to India, the influence of Indian culture in his music, and his relevance and importance as a member of The Beatles. It will consist of previously unseen footage and interviews with Olivia and Dhani Harrison, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Eric Idle, Phil Spector and Tom Petty.

GEORGE HARRISON: LIVING IN THE MATERIAL is scheduled to have its US premiere in October.
