Sylvester Stallone has long had a reputation for being incredibly hands-on with his projects - he's been referred to as a 'ghost-director' on several - and, once again that appears to be the case with the upcoming Bullet To The Head.
Formerly known as Headshot this production has seen a host of changes from when it began. First Walter Hill replaced Wayne Kramer in the director's chair. Next Sung Kang replaced Thomas Jane as the co-lead. Somewhere around there the Headshot title was jettisoned in favor of Bullet To The Head, the title of the source graphic novel by Alexis 'Matz' Nolent. And now there is apparently one more change to add to the list.
We are told that production wrapped on the film yesterday and while they began with a script adapted from the graphic novel by The Messenger scribe Alessandro Camon they ended with a draft written by Stallone himself. Whether this was a polish or a full rewrite is not clear but Stallone's fingerprints are very much on the script.
As for the story itself, for those unfamiliar, Stallone plays an aging hitman who teams with a young cop (Sung Kang) to bring down a common enemy. Bullet To The Head is currently set for an April 13, 2012 release.
