Herman Yau (THE UNTOLD STORY, TURNING POINT, GONG TAU) is one of the most prolific directors in Hong Kong. His last film LEGEND IS BORN: IP MAN, which tells the story of a young Ip Man, was well-received despite not having Donnie Yen in the cast. Yau's latest film, WOMAN KNIGHT OF MIRROR LAKE, will be released in China in August during the last part of their summer season.
The central character of WOMAN KNIGHT OF MIRROR LAKE is Qiu Jin, a real-life revolutionary, feminist and poet during China's Qing Dynasty. The cast includes many familiar names such as Huang Yi (who plays Qiu Jin), Dennis To Yu-hang (who played Ip Man in THE LEGEND IS BORN: IP MAN), Rose Chan, Pat Ha, Anthony Wong, Xiong Xin-xin and Lam Suet.
