PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3 Teaser Trailer

Yep, there is another one of those Paranormal Activity films on the way. The franchise was kicked off in 2009 when Oren Peli wrote, directed, produced and edited a horror which cost a reported $15,000 to make (which is absolutely nothing in normal movie terms) and it went on to make almost $200 million at the worldwide box office.

Queue a sequel.

While the second Paranormal Activity didn't do as well critically, it still made $176 million worldwide on a $3 million budget.

Queue a second sequel.

Below you'll find the first official teaser trailer for Paranormal Activity 3, this time directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (who made the divisive documentary Catfish). And as you'll see it carries on the same evidently winning formula of the first two, the only difference this time being it appears to jump back in time to when Katie was a little girl and things first started to go bump in the night for her.

I don't know if that's necessarily a good thing simply because we already know what becomes of Katie and her sister from the first two films, so most (if not all) of the suspense of whether or not they're going to survive is diminished. In that case it will come down to the scares and whether the Catfish guys can deliver something effective and hopefully memorable.

Have a look at the teaser trailer below! The film is set to be released in the run up to Halloween on October 21st, 2011.
