The Monty Python gang is (mostly) back together. With the exception of Eric Idle, the complete Monty Python - even Graham Chapman, the dead one - is back together and hard at work on an animated adaptation of Chapman's A Liar's Autobiography: Volume VI.
Written roughly ten years before his death by cancer, A Liar's Autobiography chronicles Chapman's life as a founding member of one of the greatest comedy groups ever to walk this earth as well as his experiences as an openly gay man and a closeted alcoholic.
Produced by Bill Jones, Ben Timlett and Jeff Simpson the film will be animated in a variety of styles with segments ranging from three to twelve minutes with Chapman himself providing a great deal of the voice work, thanks to an audio reading he made of the book with the help of Harry Nilsson. Other voices will be provided by John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam. Of the Pythons only Eric Idle is not involved at this time, which is surprising given that Idle has always been the most vocal about wanting to get the group back together.
