Important lesson learned from the new trailer for Tarsem (The Fall) Singh's upcoming Immortals: If you're going to make a film chock full of half naked ancient gods, heroes and monsters you're going to need a whole lot of body oil. It also helps a bit if you've got the visual skills to design the hell out of everything.
A revisionist take on the story of Theseus, Immortals stars Henry Cavill - soon to be Superman in Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel - as the lead in a full on swords and sorcery epic. A new trailer for the film released this morning loaded with fresh footage that I personally am fairly mixed on. There are moments where the visuals are astounding but also moments where the special effects appear a little less than special and the acting consists largely of shouting. The influence of 300 - Immortals shares producers with that film - is obvious but Tarsem takes it in some different directions. Get a taste below.
