The Never Before Seen Director's Cut Of CYBORG Unearthed!

Big news for fans of cult filmmaker Albert Pyun, action star Jean Claude Van Damme and fans of 80s action and science fiction in general: Thenever before seen, unrated director's cut of Pyun's post apocalyptic action flick Cyborg - the film that put Van Damme on the map - has been rediscovered and is being made available to fans.

This cut is the absolute last version of the film directly controlled by Pyun himself. Dubbed from a workprint telecine dated October 8th, 1988 - the day before Pyun was essentially forced out of the editing process - it features a much darker, more violent version of the film. Van Damme's voice is dubbed by another actor to compensate for the accent, it includes the original rock score by Tony Riparetti and Jim Saad, and is the final version of the film before the MPAA forced cuts to achieve an R rating. Meaning this version would have been rated X for violence.

Anyone interested in seeing this cut of the film can email curnanpictures [at] gmail.com for information. It's worth noting that Pyun is also currently mastering the director's cut of his Captain America, which will be appearing on the festival circuit this summer.

Also found were a stash of still from the movie, some of which can be seen in the gallery below.
