The end of the ScreenAnarchy presented Back to the 80s series at the TIFF Bell Lightbox comes this Saturday with a screening Peter Yates' Krull and I want to offer a very sincere thank you to everyone who came out and made the series such a resounding success. But before we wrap up we've got more stuff to give away ...
Local artist Justin Erickson is creating a series of custom posters for the screening series, one to promote each film in the series. Readers of Rue Morgue Magazine, where he has been a key artist and designer for a while now, are already well familiar with Justin's work and with his Phantom City Creative he's pushing out into some new territory as well. What you see above is Justin's original artwork for Krull.
Now, here's the thing about these posters. They are not commercially available. They are not for sale now and they never will be. While the images will be used online, the number of physical copies will be ultra limited. Beyond ultra limited, really. There will be ten. In the world. Ever. And, again, they will not be sold. Five copies are being kept for the people involved in putting the series together. And the other five? Those are being given away to people attending the screening.
Of the five giveaway copies three will be given away in the theater to the first three people able to answer whatever trivia questions I happen to cook up. The other two are up for grabs right now. We are giving two of these away, along with a pair of tickets each, to a pair of lucky Twitch readers. I'm not going to make you answer a question, I'm not going to make you jump through hoops, all I'm going to require is that you be there, in person, to pick up your poster and tickets at the show. I will not ship them. I will not hold them for you. I will not give them to someone else who you send in your place. You must come to the theater yourself to claim it. You good with that? Then send me an email here saying you want to be in on the draw for the Krull poster and tickets. The winners will be drawn at random Friday morning.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THOSE PLANNING TO ATTEND: The films in the series have been playing to packed houses with most screening selling out. If you want to avoid disappointment BUY YOUR TICKETS EARLY. Tickets for Krull are available now via TIFF's online box office.
