While wandering the convention floor at the Hong Kong Filmart today I wandered over to the animation area and spotted a poster that demanded further investigation, one promoting animated series Fruity Samurai, from Japan's ChaLabTV.
And so off I went to discover more, learning along the way that the first three episodes - running about a minute and a half on average - are all online and represent a fantastically absurd spin on classic samurai films. The mood and tone is all there, the behavior very true to form, except for the fact that these particular samurai all have pieces of fruit for heads.
