It was around this time last year that we first came across Luis Briceno and David Alapont's FARD, an absolutely fantastic animated science fiction short film that won raves on the international festival circuit. We had the privilege of hosting the complete film here on ScreenAnarchy for a while but were eventually asked to take it down when the film made the short list for Best Animated Short at this year's Oscars. Voters are sensitive about such things, apparently.
But those of you who remember the film will understand why this bit of news is so exciting: Briceno and Alapont are currently developing a feature version of the film titled DOME. Though still listed in development the process is far along that the project has been accepted to the annual Cartoon Movie production market in France, where it will be looking to drum up financial partners.
