Noboru Iguchi's KARATE-ROBO ZABORGAR To Premiere In Rotterdam

Cult film fans take note: Machine Girl director Noboru Iguchi's Karate-Robo Zaborgar will have its world premiere at the upcoming International Film Festival Rotterdam.

A revival of the classic television series of the same name, Karate Robo Zaborgar is Iguchi's first proper foray into the world of tokusatsu. It's the story of a boy and his motorcycle, the gimmick being that the motorcycle transforms into a voice-controlled robot that can - and is - used to battle a variety of bizarre cyborg creatures. The film is Iguchi's highest budgeted affair to date by a fair margin and his first ever project shot in a 2.35 aspect ratio. And it looks great.

We had been hoping to premiere the trailer for the film to coincide with this announcement but unfortunately are not able to do so. Instead we leave you with the following still that sums up the lead character's feelings about the selection.
