We don't cover a lot of US TV here on ScreenAnarchy but having had the chance to meet Elijah Wood a handful of times at Fantastic Fest and deciding that I really, really like the guy I am more inclined to throw this one out there. The fact that he'll be co-starring with a drunken man in a cheap dog suit makes the decision that much easier.
FX have just commissioned a thirteen episode run of Wilfred, a US version of the cult Australian comedy of the same name to be supervised by Family Guy guy David Zuckerman. In it Wood will star as an introvert whose only real friend is Wilfred (played by Australian creator Jason Gann). Wilfred's a dog. But not to Elijah Wood who interacts with him as a man in a cheap dog suit. An oftentimes drunken man. This could be awesome. Check out a chunk of the Aussie version below.
