BURIED Director Casts DeNiro And Weaver In Psychological Thriller RED LIGHTS

It's been a good couple days for director Rodrigo Cortes. Yesterday his feature debut - Buried - won the prestigious Golden Melia award as the best European Fantastic Film of the year at the Sitges Festival. And today word is out that Robert DeNiro has joined Sigourney Weaver in the cast of his upcoming sophomore film Red Lights.

This time out we'll be seeing Cortes work from his own script, a script that sees Weaver playing a paranormal researcher who debunks psychic claims. And next in her sights is DeNiro, playing a world famous psychic. In Cortes' words the film explores "how the brain does not give a true picture of reality."

After his tour de force work in Buried I'd be prepared to follow Cortes just about anywhere he would care to lead. But hand him a premise like this played by a cast like this and I expect something nothing less than spectacular to be the result.
