Yes, this bit of news appears (almost) purely because I could not resist the urge to quote Buckaroo Banzai.

John Lithgow and Freida Pinto have both been added to the cast of upcoming Planet of the Apes prequel Rise of the Apes with Lithgow slated to play star James Franco's father. Which actually strikes me as a particularly apt piece of casting.
