Can we now say that parkour is a truly global sensation? Already well rooted throughout Europe and North America the sport now has an obvious face in Asia with the arrival of City Monkey, a parkour-themed feature from director Patrick Kong.
According to a review at Film Business Asia, the just-released film is at least as much a domestic drama as it is an action film, with the core story revolving around a conflict between the young main character and his mother who wants him to abandon the sport and focus on his studies. The trailer shows some real skill, though. Nothing as extreme as Banlieue 13 by any means, but still quite good. Check it below.
