Admit it. You'd love to see Ryan Reynolds packed in a box and buried deep underground.
Heh. I kid (mostly) but that is exactly the premise of Rodrigo Cortes' Buried, a new thriller that stars Reynolds as a civilian contractor in Iraq kidnapped by extremists and buried alive in an attempt to extort money out of - presumably - his employers and government. The film has long been one of the big advance-buzz titles for this year's Sundance Festival, with most observers listing it as one of the titles most likely to trigger a bidding war once the premiere rolls around. And now, finally, we get a taste of it beyond the already released poster in the form of the first teaser. Not a lot happening visually here - it's a movie about a guy in a box, remember - but it does a very solid job of selling the mood and tone of would could be a very uncomfortable viewing experience. Uncomfortable in all the right ways. And Reynolds' performance looks pretty damn solid, too. Check it below.
