Did the failure of John From Cincinnati give David Milch the reality check he needed? I certainly hope so because Milch's Deadwood is some of the finest television ever produced and if he's back on form with the upcoming Luck ... well, this could be spectacular.
A horse racing drama written by Milch with Michael Mann slated to direct the pilot and the pair jointly producing, Luck has just had a pilot ordered by HBO and with this pair involved I find it hard to believe it won't make it to a full series. If only this partnership had been struck while Deadwood was still running ... can you imagine what would have happened with Mann turned loose in that world?
