In The World Of 3D Animation, While We Get UP Argentina Gets BOOGIE

Now, don't get me wrong with that headline.  I really like Up and the entire slate of Pixar films, really.  All of them other than Cars, at least.  The point is just that when you take a trip out to the local multiplex to see an animated feature projected in three glorious dimensions in this part of the world the darkest thing you're likely to come across is something along the lines of Coraline.  Which I also like a lot and bought on BluRay as a Christmas present for the boy, but don't tell him that.  In Argentina, however, audiences right now can go out and witness animated violence and mass bloodshed in three glorious dimensions thanks to the just released animated feature Boogie El Aceitoso

First covered in these pages well over a year ago, Boogie is based on the works of cult comic artist Fontanarrosa and tells the story of surly hitman Boogie on a mission to prove that he is still at the top of his chosen profession despite the arrival of a younger rival.  He drinks.  He smokes.  He swears.  He scratches his balls.  And, mostly, he shoots a lot of people just because he can.  Despite employing a very 2D style of animation this one has rolled out on 3D screens throughout Argentina this week and you can check out what you're missing with the English-friendly trailer below.
