After his energetic and deliriously silly 다찌마와리 (Dachimawa Lee), Chungmuro's Action Kid Ryu Seung-Wan is already preparing his next project 나는 집행한다 - still no International title, but think of it as "I'm taking the law into my own hands" - which will tell the story of a man who, well, takes the law into his own hands, after the murder of his younger sister is completely ignored by the authorities - now, imagine what could possibly ensue after that. We'll talk a little more in depth about the film with a preview in the coming days, but in the meantime, Ryu has been busy with other endeavors, particularly in China. He has in fact directed four mini-videos for the Korea Tourism Organization, divided into food, shopping, Korean Wave, and "hot place" (Hongdae and Cheongdam-dong). Not surprisingly, they feature one big Korean Wave star (Song Seung-Heon) and some familiar local faces like Gao Yuanyuan and Li Guangjie (who looks a little like Liu Yue), with cameos by Park Hae-Jin and Park Eun-Hye (who's more popular in China than she's ever been in Korea).
Not exactly the kind of director you'd expect to be attached to this kind of project, but it's interesting nonetheless. Here's one of the videos, but you can see that in full screen along with the remaining three here.
