JU-ON's Takashi Shimizu Enters THE SHOCK LABYRINTH

Need proof that the current wave of 3D films is more than just a passing fad? How about the fact that 3D capable screens are now being installed all around the globe, Korea has just announced their first ever 3D horror film and Japan is poised to release their own 3D entry in late September.

Takashi Shimizu's The Shock Labyrinth is a a film we reported on a while back, the island nation's first 3D horror film entrusted to the director of the hugely popular Ju-On series of films as well as artier fare like Marebito. Based on - and set in - a popular Japanese theme park ride, The Shock Labyrinth seems like a bit of a rushed production job, even by speedy Japanese standards, but having gone into production just months ago the release date is already just a month away and the first teaser has just arrived via the official website. Big jumps and scares? Not so much in this one, which seems primarily interested in simply getting the name and concept out there, but I'd expect a more full blooded trailer soon.
