Danish film is known for a lot of things. It's precision. A willingness to challenge. Lately, a healthy string of high end thrillers. But what it's not really known for is comedy. Particularly not slapstick comedy. But if Rasmus Heide has his way that will soon change with The Christmas Party (Julefrokosten). One of the most hotly anticipated films of the year in Denmark this year, The Christmas PArty features some of Denmark's biggest stars - among them the leads from Pusher, Just Another Love Story and Flame And Citron getting goofy.
When salesman Anders begins his new job, he is given a special task: to infiltrate one the company's competitors and during the annual Christmas event steal their confidential customer file. As Anders romps through the commotion and antics of the celebration, he realises that life is an ongoing process of learning and that he is only a beginner.
Kim Bodnia is almost entirely unrecognizable in this thanks to the insane thing they've done to his hair and he looks like he's loving his life. The trailer lies below the break.
