Good news for fans of master animator Hayao Miyazaki here in the western world. The wait for a local release of the latest from the man behind Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro will be a short one with test screenings of the English language version under way now and a theatrical release planned for sometime in 2009. And with the test screenings unspooling word is now out as to the English voice cast. Ghibli World seem to have gotten the full list first so we'll send you there to get the complete list but Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Cate Blanchett, and Liam Neeson are all on board. If past history is any indication - and I believe this is a contractual thing so it should very well be - major markets should also have a limited number of theaters screening the original Japanese language version with English subtitles.
