Andrew McPhillips' BLOOD WILL TELL Wins Best Animated Short At Slamdance!

We first wrote about Andrew McPhillips' stunning animated short Blood Will Tell back in July when he passed us a quartet of stills and went on to rave about the film when it played as part of the Toronto International Film Festival. Well, the film has since gone on to win the Grand Jury Prize as Best Animated Short at the Slamdance Festival and McPhillips has just passed us a previously unseen pair of concept sketches for the film.

A six minute, sci-fi horror film set in 16th Century Holland. A mysterious visitor who is hopelessly sick, attempts to hide from death in a dark, mosquito infested well. But the darkness can’t hide him, or the surrounding villages for very long ... Blood will tell.

A unique, 3d animated film, rendered using a new technique based on the Victorian “tin type” photographic process. Music by the Icelandic band, Sigur Ros.
