Official Site For Takashi Miike's Yatterman Online... Film Due In 2009.

Really, this is partly out of interest for the man's work, partly out of love for the idea of the thing (and the pants logo) even though I have reservations, and mostly in amazement that there's a little inconsequential site online now for a film they're saying (themselves; Nikkatsu is it?) is not due until 2009.

Yes, it's another Miike project, of a short-lived anime show from the 1970's, and I can tell you no more than that right now (well, not personally)... anyone really into Yatterman big time? For me, this risks being another high budget movie that he could spend an entire year on (it has an expensive look to it, form the pictures I've seen of the anime), just like 'The Great Yokai War', which I still don't like and which I'm not keen on a repeat of.

Still, you never quite know even when you think you know exactly where you stand with Miike's work. More hit than miss for me, Miike, and this does also suggest something that could be very lively and colorful, oddly unusual, which would suit him down to the ground... and at least it's a little more obviously different and less easy to catagorise.
