Marché du Film: Richard Friedman's BORN

Distribution rights for Richard Friedman's Born are to be offered for sale by American World Pictures (AWP) at this year's Marché du Film in Cannes, which runs from May 16th to 26th.

As was reported here on ScreenAnarchy back on November 5th of last year, the screenplay for Born was written by Alex D'Lerma. The movie stars Alison Brie as Mary Elizabeth, Kane Hodder as Asmodeus/the Cardinal, Denise Crosby as Catherine, James Callahan as Albert, Eddie Velez as Father Anthony, (Alex) D'Lerma as Father Nick, Vince Lozano as Ivan, Azalea Davila as Jennifer, Joan Severance as Dr. Sammael, Rick McCallum as the trucker, Jorg Sirtl as Lars, Julie Costello as twin #1, Shawnie Costello as twin #2, Roger Hewlett as the doorman, and Mike Muscat as the bum.

Here's a synopsis for Born from the official website for the movie: "Mary Elizabeth goes to bed alone one night, still a twenty-one-year-old virgin, and wakes up the next morning... pregnant.

Possessed by the demon fetus growing within her womb, Mary Elizabeth obeys her homicidal cravings to kill... for the sake of her unborn spawn.

Mary Elizabeth's dark transformation is controlled by her unborn demon child's deadly evil cravings. Once the child is born, there will be hell on earth. From this apparent immaculate conception comes edge-of-your-seat terror."
