The screenplay for Haikara Girl was written by Watanabe. The movie stars (listed order corresponds to order on official webpage) miko (PDF file), Yûji Sugao, Miyoko Sakura, Osamu Tanpopo (he was in Daisuke Yamanouchi's Mofuku furin: kuro-tabi fujin), Shôji Mori, Yôji Senzaki, Hitomi Yamada, and Munetada Matsui.
AMG Entertainment Inc. (AMG Entateinmento K.K.) - formerly FullMedia K.K. (K.K. FuruMedia) - is scheduled to release Haikara Girl on sale DVD (FMDS-5049) in Japan on February 23rd.
Watanabe's previous directing credits include Tokoroten Girl (Tokoroten no onna) and Neko no kazoku.
miko previously starred in such movies as Kôsuke Suzuki's Prisoner No. 07: Reina (Joshû: 07-gô Reina), Eiji Ôtsuki's Black Emperor Ladies (Jitsuroku bôsôzoku: Burakku Enperâ redîsu), Ryûichi Honda's "Hidden - senpuku" - it and Takashi Motoki's "Hunger" comprised the omnibus eros (omunibasu erosu) movie Survive (Sabaibu) - and Honda's My Wife's Shell (Dappi waifu - peau de mon épouse).
