Here's a description of Billy Zane's character in Valley of the Wolves: Iraq from the official website for the movie: "Sam William Marshall: He is a forty year old ex soldier who has attended missions abroad. For the last three years, he has been leading a secret unit established with the order of the CIA in the Northern Iraq. He knows the region better than an Iraqi. He has plans concerning Iraq in the future. In order to fulfil them, he uses every way possible. He has highly educated himself and he is a man of culture and grace. He adores classical music. And his greatest passion is playing piano. Although he is almost ear deaf in one because of a mission, he is very good at playing the piano. He is a great admirer of Beethoven. He attaches great importance to children in the procession of rebuilding Iraq. He has a weakness for them. He wants to share his high pleasures and tastes with them. Seeing himself as a social engineer, Sam thinks that instead of repairing a building, it's better to destroy it and make a new one. He gives cruel orders and sees them carried out cold heartedly. He has established a force of twelve trained men and who obey him fully. Sam is a savior to them. But to get to his ideals, everyone can be sacrificed.
