There's a teaser trailer for Mayumi Miyasaka's Angel (Tenshi) on the website of the Skip City International D-Cinema Festival 2005. The movie is based on the eponymous manga Tenshi by Erika Sakurazawa. It stars Kyôko Fukada in the silent role of the titular angel. Its principal cast also includes Hiromi Nagasaku (she's also in Toshiaki Toyoda's Hanging Garden (Kûchû teien)), Asahi Uchida (he's also in Takashi Tsukinoki's The Deep Red (Shinku); earlier this year he was in Kiyoshi Kurosawa's House of Bugs (Mushi-tachi no ie) - one of the half-dozen hour-long movies in the Kazuo Umezu's Horror Theater (Umezu Kazuo: kyôfu gekijô) series), Haruko Wanibuchi, Megumi Satô (she stars in Su-jin Kim's Dreaming of Light (Garasu no tsukai)), Naomi Nishida (she's also in Shun'ichi Nagasaki's Christmas in August (8-gatsu no Kurisumasu)), Masatoshi Nagase (earlier this year he was in Akio Jissôji's Ubume no natsu), and Yuki Ôtake (she also sings the theme song for the movie; earlier this year she was in Yôichirô Hayama's Dead Waves (Shiryôha)).
Shôchiku K.K. plans to release Angel theatrically in Japan some time next year.
