The 8th annual PPP (Pusan Promotion Plan), which will open at the Pusan International Film Festival this October 6th, has announced the 27 funding projects for this year. Also, 6 debut works by Korean directors will be funded as part of the NDIF (New Directors in Focus) project, which involves 33 films.
Kim Ki-Duk's new project is '아름답다' ('Beautiful'), about a woman breaking up with her man because of beauty, and going as far as getting raped because of beauty (Kim returning to his roots?). Another surprising return is that of Lee Kwang-Mo, of '아름다운 시절' ('Spring in My Hometown') fame. After a 7 year hiatus, he'll return with '나무 그림 동화' (A Tree Drawing Fairy Tale).
Another new project of note is Park Chan-Ok's second film after the well received '질투는 나의 힘' ('Jealousy Is My Middle Name'), '파주' ('Paju').
